Care for Creation

What a great start we had to our day at Holy Trinity High School today.   We took part in a Care for Creation project which involved staff working to beautify the school yard from 8:30 – 9:30 am (Our students do not arrive until 10:30 on Fridays).  Together, we weeded flower beds, swept the parking lot and bus compound, cleaned up leaves, and cut the grass.  One special group of staff even scraped the weeds that were growing between the paving stones in the court yard.  As a result, our school yard looks AMAZING! At 9:30, after a short prayer, the staff was treated to a breakfast of pancakes, eggs, sausage, bacon, and fruit.  It was awesome to share a meal together.  There was a little bit of food left over, which was discretely given to some of the less fortunate kids in our school.

When the students arrived, many commented on the work that had been done and many remarked about how awesome the school yard looked.  I think we set a great example for the students.

Hmmmm….50 staff each worked for an hour, that’s 50 hours of work that our custodial staff does not have time to get to.

Thanks Holy Trinity Staff.  You ROCK!
